Ahmed Javed was born on 2 January 1956 and is a retired Indian police officer and civil servant who was the 39th Commissioner of Police, Mumbai, India.


Ahmed Javed served as Superintendent of Police in Buldhana and Nanded before being posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Intelligence, in Mumbai.


Ahmed Javed then served in various postings, including a stint with the Delhi Police between 1983 and 1985.


Ahmed Javed returned to Mumbai in the early 2000s, serving as Additional Commissioner of Police of the Central Region and then the South Region, before being promoted to Inspector General of Police, he was posted as Joint Commissioner of Police.


Ahmed Javed served in this key post from 2002 to 2005.


Ahmed Javed currently is Ambassador of India in Saudi Arabia.


Ahmed Javed was earlier the Director General of Police.


On 12 December 2015 Ahmad Ahmed Javed was appointed India's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, six months after last Ambassador Hamid Ali Rao had retired.
