Arne Ljungqvist was born on 23 April 1931 and is a Swedish medical researcher, sports personality and retired high jumper.

Arne Ljungqvist grew up in Alsten, outside Stockholm, as the son of Gunnar Arne Ljungqvist, a CEO in the insurance industry and right-wing politician, and his wife Solveig.
