Benny Jewell Barnes was born on March 3,1951 and is a former American football cornerback in the National Football League for eleven seasons, all with the Dallas Cowboys.

Benny Barnes played college football at Stanford University in the Pacific-8 Conference.

In 1970, Barnes transferred across the Bay to Stanford, where he was converted from linebacker to free safety.
