Dr Timothy Charles Ayrton Tannock was born on 25 September 1957 and is a British psychiatrist, independent politician and former Member of the European Parliament for London.

Charles Tannock speaks French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese having spent part of his early life living abroad, first in Italy between the age of 4 and 8 then Portugal from 8 till early adulthood when he completed university.
