David Mckee Barnes was born on June 20,1978 and is an American musician, singer, and songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee.

The eldest of three children, Dave Barnes was born in South Carolina in 1978, the son of a pastor who relocated his family to Kosciusko, Mississippi when Dave Barnes was six years old.
