Emiliano Figueroa studied in the San Ignacio School and then went on to study law at the State University.
Emiliano Figueroa graduated in 1889 and that same year was named secretary to the Intendant of Santiago.
Emiliano Figueroa decided to embark on a political career and joined the Liberal Democratic Party, which supported a stronger executive.
Emiliano Figueroa was elected deputy for Victoria and Melipilla in 1900 and reelected in 1903.
