Hadise established and maintained a successful career in both Belgium and Turkey with the release of her self-titled album Hadise.

In 2009, Hadise represented Turkey at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Dum Tek Tek".

Hadise's name was chosen by one of her grandparents, having originally been intended for her older sister.
