1. Hanns Georgi was a German painter, printmaker and book illustrator.
In 1921, while a teacher and artist, Hanns Georgi met his future wife, Elfriede Angels.
Hanns Georgi later had three children with her: Dieter, Henry and Ulrich.
In 1926, Hanns Georgi took part in the International Art Exhibition in Dresden, and a year later was a member of the German Association of Artists, where he remained until its dissolution in 1934.
From 1926 to 1931, while exhibiting, Hanns Georgi continued to further his studies as a teacher at the University of Leipzig in history, philosophy and pedagogy.
From March 1931 until spring 1933, Hanns Georgi became a research assistant at the Pedagogical Institute of the Dresden University of Technology.
On 25 August 1939 Hanns Georgi was drafted for part of the German invasion of Poland, then later for the French campaign.
From 1941 to 1945 Hanns Georgi built a teacher training college in Bischofswerda.
From 1945, after his dismissal from the teaching profession, Hanns Georgi worked as a freelance painter and graphic artist.
In 1952 Hanns Georgi became a member of the Association of Artists of the GDR.
Hanns Georgi retired not long after but traveled a lot, purchasing many paintings from his travels.
On 23 October 1989 Hanns Georgi died in the house of his son Henry in Malschendorf near Dresden.
