Inggit Garnasih is known as the companion of President Sukarno which company her through hard times before Indonesian independence and became her second wife in 1923.

Inggit Garnasih was born Garnasih on 17 February 1888 in Kamasan, a village in Banjaran District, Bandung Regency, as the child and daughter of Ardjipan and Amsi, both were a farmer.

Inggit Garnasih then married for a second time to Sanusi, a businessman who was active in Sarekat Islam.

Unfortunately, based on Presidential Decree Number 115-TK-TH-2023 dated 6 November 2023, Inggit Garnasih was declared ineligible to receive the title of national hero.
