Sir Kenneth John Eaton was a Royal Navy officer who served as Controller of the Navy from 1989 to 1994, as well as President of the Society for Nautical Research from 2020 to 2022.

Kenneth Eaton joined the Royal Navy in 1953, as a Special Entry Cadet and was confirmed as a sub-lieutenant in 1957.

Kenneth Eaton then served on the aircraft carrier HMS Eagle, at the shore establishment HMS Collingwood and the destroyer HMS Bristol from 1965 to 1971.

Kenneth Eaton then worked on the Defence Communications Network from 1971 to 1972 and then returned to the Admiralty Surface Weapons Establishment where he remained until joining the aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal in 1976.

Kenneth Eaton was appointed assistant director of Communications Planning in 1979, assistant director of Command Systems in 1981, Director of Torpedoes in 1983 and Director-General of Underwater Weapons for the Navy in 1985.
