Michele Zarrillo was born on 13 June 1957 and is an Italian singer-songwriter.

Michele Zarrillo took part in Sanremo's competition 13 times, but only won once, as stated above.

Michele Zarrillo debuted as a musician in the 1970s, when he started playing guitar in the band Semiramis.

In 1982 Michele Zarrillo competed as a soloist at the Sanremo Music Festival performing the song "Su quel pianeta libero".

In 1987, Michele Zarrillo competed for the third time at the Sanremo Music Festival, finishing first in the newcomers' section with the song, "La notte dei pensieri".

In 1994, Michele Zarrillo released the single "Cinque giorni", which placed fifth in the 44th Sanremo Music Festival and became one of his best-known songs, receiving strong airplay in the weeks following its release.

Two years later, Michele Zarrillo released the album "L'elefante e la farfalla", including the song with the same title, performed during the Sanremo Music Festival, 1996.

In 1997, Michele Zarrillo released his first compilation album, L'amore vuole amore, which was a commercial success, being certified platinum five times by the Federation of the Italian Music Industry for domestic sales exceeding 500,000 units.
