1. Nariyoshi Miyagi, better known as Mr Miyagi, is a fictional character and the overarching protagonist of Robert Mark Kamen's The Karate Kid franchise, appearing in The Karate Kid, The Karate Kid Part II, The Karate Kid Part III, and The Next Karate Kid.
Mr Miyagi was trained in Okinawan Goju-ryu, a defensive style of karate by a sensei who spoke poor English.
Mr Miyagi is eccentric, making his first appearance trying to catch flies with chopsticks, but has an impressive knowledge of karate.
