Rafael Silva Guanaes was born on 27 March 1981 and is a Brazilian football coach and former player who played as a midfielder.

Rafael Guanaes played for the Campbell University's soccer team during the 1999 and 2000 campaigns, Nacional and Joseense.

On 16 June 2010, Rafael Guanaes was named head coach of Joseense for the remainder of the year, replacing sacked Ricardo Longhi, but only lasted two matches before Longhi asked to return to the role, and he subsequently became a director of football.

Rafael Guanaes returned to coaching duties ahead of the 2011 season, and achieved promotion to Campeonato Paulista Serie A3 with the club in 2012 before being appointed in charge of Uniao Sao Joao on 6 August 2014.

Rafael Guanaes was sacked by Uniao on 9 September 2014, but took over Sao Carlos on 2 December, for the ensuing campaign.
