Tama William Potaka was born on 8 January 1976 and is a New Zealand politician and Member of Parliament in the House of Representatives representing the Hamilton West electorate.

Tama Potaka is a member of the National Party and was chief executive of Ngai Tai ki Tamaki before entering Parliament.

Tama Potaka has Maori ancestry through both of his parents, who were schoolteachers, and he affiliates to Ngati Hauiti, Whanganui, Taranaki, and Ngati Toa.
