Lieutenant Thomas Eugene "Tom" Paris is a fictional character in the American science fiction television series Star Trek: Voyager and is portrayed by Robert Duncan McNeill.

Tom Paris is the son of Starfleet Admiral Owen Paris, with most of his other family hailing from Starfleet.

Admiral Tom Paris often disapproved of his son's tendency to get into fights and his resulting punishments.

Afraid he would lose his commission, Tom Paris falsified records to conceal the cause of the accident.

Tom Paris was court martialed for his actions and dishonorably discharged from Starfleet.

In return, Tom Paris would serve as an informant during the mission.
