Agnes Hunt was born in London, daughter and sixth of eleven children of Rowland Hunt of Boreatton Park, Baschurch, a village in west Shropshire, England, and his wife, Florence Marianne, eldest daughter of Richard Buckley Humfrey of Stoke Albany, Northamptonshire, England.
