Brian Behan was an Irish writer, public speaker, lecturer, and trade unionist.

Brian Behan is the father of the playwright and actress Janet Behan, journalist Rosemary Behan, writer and musician Ruth Behan, musician and poet Daniel Tobias Behan, and solicitor Linsey Jane Behan.

In 1950, Brian Behan moved to London to work as a labourer.

Brian Behan then joined the Communist Party of Great Britain and soon became a member of its executive committee.
